The World Council Today

Since its inception in 1977, the World Council has grown from an intimate support group of gifted educators to a diverse organization networking the globe with an active membership of educators, scholars, researchers, parents, educational institutions and others interested in giftedness. Headquarters regularly receives requests for information and guidance from individuals around the world.

The Asia-Pacific and Ibero-American Federations, the ECHA and Eurotalent are officially sanctioned as affiliate federations of the World Council as well as a growing list of worldwide affiliated organizations.

Responding to the growth and evolution of the organization over the years, a revised constitution was ratified in 1995. The changes include alterations to the governing structure, thus ensuring the implementation of an expanded list of goals for worldwide advocacy for gifted and talented youth.
